That will work with 416 and C1045. But for 316 and other alloys, it will not work reliably. Also, just industry std requires .0005" per foot across any 5 foot span, so you have to check in way more locations that just the middle. But hey...for Ag pumps what you show is fine.

No one tells you if you are supposed to check and adjust pressure with the valve still open or closed! This guy never says to close it after draining the water off, so I'm unsure if it matters

I'm on my second Goulds pump. They seem to be very well made, but I really wish the bolts on the motor cover were more substantial. They are really easy to strip out the heads making it impossible to remove the cover to service the components inside without drilling out the bolts.

I have a horizontal tank, do I need to completely drain if I see 0psi after running a tap for a while? Not easy to do without disconnecting a bunch of connections.

Excellent video. If you have a shut off valve on the main water pipe to the house (as is the case in this video) it's a good idea to close that valve so that a lot of air doesn't get into home pipe system causing a lot of pressure water surges in the water pipes that could create leaks at weak points.

That is for like a duplex booster system to either have pump1 lead and pump 2 lag or for alternating ti and alternating relay am I correct not a technician am a plumber from trinidad in the Caribbean and always wanted to pipe and wire pump duplex system

need assistance. the controller shuts down. we do a hard reset to initialize and reboot. often when entering reboot stage it stops and takes several hours.

We follow your video on rebuilding the same pump as yours but you did 2 big mistakes and you never address them in the comments at least. 1st The spring retainer has to be in place when you reinstall the spring and 2nd the big O-ring you put it in the wrong place the O-ring needs to be on the lip of the drum. not on the flange as you show. So I consider this video unprofessional and deceiving. If you put that o-ring in the place you put it you have a big leak. I was expecting from a technician like you to address these mistakes but you didn't this is why I wrote this to let others know your way is not the right way.

Solid shaft P-Base motor.

We have an ongoing problem with the O-rings leaking and water seeping from the pump when it is off-line. After restarting, the leak goes away. Any ideas as to how to correct this or what may be causing it?

So, what is holding the shaft seal sleeve from spinning on the motor shaft during operation?

2 questions 1)So When testing Line to ground there must be O.L for good motor , is this true for all well motors? 2) Can you test the motor with 230v (outside the water), pump and motor not attached just to see if the motor is working.

On my 1SVD1D1C0 there's no upper gland like that. The top plate looks roll crimped like a soda can.

Here's what's driving me absolutely nuts right now... I use the water, pump turns on, then once at pressure it turns off. 30 -60 seconds later it turns back on, runs for a minute, then turns back off. Repeats this a few times then stops until I use the water again. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Pump is only a few months old, changed the filter out, replaced all tap washers, but still stops and starts..

Thank you, all went well until the last step, as there is some drag, sounds like metal to metal, so will pull off the cover and check the alignment of the inside housing that the o ring sits on, in my case it is the unit that it attached to a bearing for gas motor attachment.

What is the name of the tool used to measure the shaft size? Who makes it? Thanks!
